The Sephora scene is a heavenly one, but with so much makeup every which way, you know a product is special when it catches your attention.
Initially, it was the beautiful packaging that caught my eye, but after noticing the “Limited Edition” label, I knew I was in for a treat!
For Summer 2016, NARS did something out of the box and teamed up with artist Konstantin Kakanias in order to put scenes from the French Riviera onto the packaging of their limited edition products. It’s the perfect summer packaging, with vibrant colours and envy-inducing vacation scenes; the packaging should be hanging in an art gallery!
As a lipstick enthusiast, I went straight for the NARS Summer 2016 – Lip Cover and was pleasantly surprised with the three limited edition colours. Ranging from Get Dirty (a light dusty rose), to Overheated (a rosy-taupe colour), and finally to Do Not Disturb (a shockingly bright red), whether neutrals or punchy colours are your style, the selection is surprisingly accommodating although there are only three shades.
The applicator brush allows for easy use of the lip stain which has a luscious, velvety feel and quite good staying-power. I was impressed with the overall product — so much so that I’ve added the Do Not Disturb shade to my own makeup bag!
